Wellbeing

At Mount Rowan Secondary College, we are committed to facilitating a supportive environment where every student can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.

Our Student Wellbeing Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring the holistic development and wellbeing of our students. Our dedicated team of professionals aim to provide comprehensive support tailored to meet the diverse needs of our student body, offering practical assistance and a supportive environment at Mount Rowan Secondary College.

Supports Offered

Counselling and Guidance: Our trained counsellors provide confidential sessions to help students navigate personal/school issues, manage stress, enhance resilience, and develop coping strategies.

Psychological Support: Our mental health practitioners and provisional psychologists offer therapeutic support and interventions, to address a range of emotional and mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and experiences of grief and trauma.

Doctors in Schools Program: Through our partnership with the Doctors in Schools initiative, we have onsite medical professionals available one day per week to address students’ health concerns, provide medical consultations, and offer guidance on health-related matters.

Wellbeing Workshops: Throughout the academic year, we organise workshops, events and small group programs covering topics such as self-care, healthy relationships, stress management, and equipping students with valuable life skills.

Lunchtime Clubs:  Students have access to daily lunchtime spaces and clubs facilitated by Wellbeing Staff to assist in making friendships, socialising with like minded people and being part of activities.

Crisis Intervention: In times of crisis or emergencies, our team provides immediate support and intervention to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students.

Referral Services: For students requiring specialised support or external resources, our team facilitates referrals to appropriate agencies and professionals in the community.

At Mount Rowan Secondary College, we believe that supporting the wellbeing of our students is essential for their educational growth and personal development. We aim to work together to prioritise student wellbeing and create a nurturing environment where every student can feel successful.
